Nicki Minaj Vs Cardi B: Lil Kim Comparison
Updated 10/28/23 4:29PM • ThatBarbDre
It's quite distressing to witness the stark contrast in the trajectories of artists within the music industry, particularly when observing the current state of Lil' Kim's career compared to Nicki Minaj's continued dominance. The undeniable fact that "Lady Marmalade" attained Platinum status in 2021, while Lil' Kim struggles to replicate such commercial success since the mid-2000s, is alarming. The absence of resonance in her music among a fan base that has matured and evolved, embracing responsibilities and careers, raises perplexing questions.
The divergence between these two artists is not just about sales figures but also about the dynamics of their relationships within the industry. The intricacies of the Nicki Minaj and Lil' Kim saga reveal a disheartening lack of reciprocity and graciousness. While Nicki attempted to extend gestures of kindness, the absence of documented kindness from Lil' Kim's end creates an imbalance that's difficult to ignore.
The discrepancies between their behaviors and responses to conflicts further highlight this divide. Lil' Kim's alleged involvement in various controversies and confrontations, including the perplexing incident of throwing a shoe over a falsified tweet, alongside her refusal to acknowledge certain damaging actions, starkly contrasts with Nicki Minaj's responses, which, while not flawless, seem more measured and forthcoming.
The industry's involvement in shaping public perception is equally troubling. The influence of certain media platforms and their alleged biases, particularly those historically against Nicki, promoting a narrative of "#1 for the culture" via potentially dubious tactics, raises questions about the integrity of these platforms.
Moreover, the revelation regarding their stylist's role in the infamous 'MotorSport' video shoot sheds light on the intricacies behind the scenes, casting shadows on the genuine nature of certain collaborations and the motivation driving certain individuals' career decisions.
The most disconcerting aspect remains the suggestion that both Lil' Kim and the artist in question underwent physical alterations to resemble Nicki, indicating a disconcerting attempt to imitate rather than innovate, eroding the essence of individual artistry.
The intricacies and multi-layered dynamics within this narrative reflect a more profound and concerning aspect of the music industry—one that extends beyond mere sales figures or chart positions, delving into the realms of integrity, reciprocity, and authenticity within the art and the business.
Final Thoughts:đź’
Kim clearly no longer has fans. She hasn’t SEEN sales since the early 2000s (2007 to be exact) All of her original fans are grown and have jobs so it makes no sense why her music doesn’t make any noise at all. If you don’t like Nicki then you just don’t like her but she definitely didn’t copy Kim nor is the Botchdi situation in any way similar. Nicki was always nice to Kim but you can’t find a single receipt of Kim being nice to Nicki. Kim would SAY she’d been nice to her but no proof had ever been set forth. Nicki gave Kim her flowers despite being dragged. Enough was enough so Nicki dragged her back. Plus Nicki made it clear to lil’ Kim that she wasn’t apart of the industry that attempted to take her down. Botched B on the other hand had already signed with a label exposed for scouting artists to Beef with Nicki Minaj; Atlantic Records. There are countless examples of Cardi B loosening the relationship she could have had with Nicki Minaj. First She pretended not to know why Nicki wasn’t on set to film Motorsport Music Video. Nicki’s old stylist Tokyo Stylez the opportunist is the reason Nicki wasn’t on set the same day as Botchdi. He double booked and couldn’t be there on time to do her hair so Nicki filmed with quavo at a later date. Now Tokyo is currently working with Botchdi and not Nicki as of 2023. And both Belcalis & Tokyo have gotten their bodies and faces done to emulate Nicki Minaj. Nicki posted text message proof of The Migos Member, Quavo, telling her he will not coming out with the truth about the situation because she wasn’t dating anyone in the group (especially him). A piss poor excuse. It would be very simple for them to have cleared up everything including but not limited to: Clearing up how Cardi B got on the song in the first place, What Exactly was Nicki’s Response instead of letting the world assume, Why Nicki wasn’t on set during the filming of the music video, And Why it was okay for Nicki to call Quavo the “QB” (Quarter Back) instead of Botchdi when it literally still means the same thing. Botched B also went on stage with Ebony Ma during the Summer Jam performance where there was an obituary of Nicki on the Screen and Remy was dissing her. She ATTEMPTED to drag Nicki for doing a feature run and turned around to do the same thing in 2023 YET flopped with each song. Called Nicki “arms” after getting it from the Stans on Twitter (X) she follows despite her mother AND publicist having bigger arms than Nicki. Threw a shoe and tried to fight Nicki at A the Harpers Bizarre Harpers Biza Party likedicki oveCalled Black Women Monkeys and Roaches all while she r a fake tweBE. Pretends to be a Black Woman. Drugged, Robbed, and Date Raped Men then doubled down and admitted to doing it for aree money. There’s PLENTY of negative things to bring up about her in terms of what she has done to Nicki VS Nicki showing her love when she came out despite her not writing her raps and Botchdi shrugged Nicki Minaj off as if she was a nobody and acted ungrateful for the collab as if she didn’t beg Offset and threaten her relationship over being on Motor Sport. Had The same radio stations and blogs that were against Nicki (The Breakfast Club, TheShadeRoom, Etc.) were the ONLY ones posting the “#1 for the culture” payola promotion.
